Which Manufacturer Offers the Best Warranty?
What’s your favorite kind of car? Maybe you prefer a Japanese automaker, like Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda or Nissan. Perhaps you like American made, like GM, Chrysler or Ford. Or, maybe you prefer one of the German automakers like Audi, Mercedes or BMW. The fact is there are literally dozens of vehicles to choose from. So which is your favorite one of the most popular models right now?
Well, according to Cox Automotive
, based on the latest sales forecasts the most popular automakers are GM, Ford, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai. All of these manufactures make solid vehicles, but not all of them offer the same warranties. The truth is, not all bumper-to-bumper warranties are created equal.
Does a B2B Warranty Really Cover Everything?
The term bumper-to-bumper warranty gets thrown around a lot, and the phrase leads you to believe that your entire vehicle is covered under the warranty. But the truth is, there are some parts that usually aren’t included, like the tires, brake drums and pads, wipers, and accident damage. Some bumper-to-bumper warranties automatically come with the vehicle. In other cases, you have to purchase an extended warranty. So which manufacturers offer the best warranties?
Here’s how the top five most popular manufacturers based on Cox Automotive’s numbers do with their standard warranties:
- Chevrolet (GM): 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty
- Ford: 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty
- Honda: 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty
- Nissan: 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty
- Hyundai: 5-year/60,000-mile limited warranty
So, the winner is obvious. Even though Hyundai trails the other makers in popularity, the Korean carmaker outdoes the rest of the competition with its warranty. Hyundai’s warranty last two more years or 24,000 miles more than everyone else.
As for bumper-to-bumper warranties, Hyundai, along with Nissan, have a lot to offer. Hyundai has a 10-year/100,000 mile plan that covers more than 1500 parts and comes with 24/7 roadside assistance. Nissan offers an 8-year plan, but up to 120,000 miles. The plan covers more than 2400 parts and also includes 24/7 roadside assistance.
One other option for bumper-to-bumper warranties is using a third party provider, like CARCHEX, for example. These warranties tend to offer even better and longer coverage than the manufacturers. They also offer several different levels and types of coverage to best fit your needs. If you want to search for a third party warranty just do some research online to find the best plan for your situation.
